SAWC: The link between land use and water quality
SAWC Land Use Subcommittee
DRAFT Terms of Reference

Purpose
To assist the Coalition with land use issues and promotes a long-term, uniform
regulatory regime for adoption by watershed towns.

Role
The Land Use Subcommittee operates only within the powers set forth by the
Coalition.  These include:
  1. Land use advisor to the full Coalition.
  2. Maintain an on-going land use campaign, including an assessment of
    existing land use controls within the watershed and a recommended
    regulatory approach for communities to implement.
  3. Provide land use guidance for local governments.
  4. Complete an assessment of activities for the annual report.


Membership
The Coalition determines the membership of the Land Use Subcommittee.



Meetings
The Land Use Subcommittee meets as often as necessary to fulfill its role. The
Land Use Subcommittee will appoint a chair.



Decisions
The Land Use Subcommittee will develop, as necessary, a unified consensus
on its recommendations for action to the Coalition.
